Sometimes the very people we trust to help us keep law and order are wolves in sheep’s clothing. This week on The Medieval Podcast, Danièle speaks with Jonathan Lyon about a powerful medieval position which could easily lend itself to violence and corruption: church advocate.

Jonathan Lyon is a Professor of Medieval History at the University of Chicago, where he researches the political and social history of Germany, Austria, and the Holy Roman Empire in the medieval period.

Thanks Danielle for such an interesting episode
Just commenting to ask if you could recommend any podcast series to better understand the medieval world and the timeline of history. I find medieval history fascinating but dont feel that i have a good grasp of its chronology. Woudl really appreciate anything that could help tie it all together!

I would enjoy it if you did something on law enforcement in the Medieval era.
