See Robbie Robertson on this topic, they went all over the world getting booed, Bob thought it was great …

I was there -- at Newport in 65. I'd say about 25 percent of the audience booed at first, but more cheered, and by the time Bobby sang this song, just about everyone liked it. Most people could feel in their hearts a new, terrific chapter in music had begun.

Magic time. Magic person. Never to be repeated. Thank God I was on the planet at the same time.

like "they" say
"you can please some people all of the time and you can please all of the people some of the time but you can't please all of the people all of the time"

He gives no F**ks, god bless him, being that chill and unaffected is rare.

This is a quote from another post of this song from that night: "I was there -- at Newport in 65. I'd say about 25 percent of the audience booed at first, but more cheered, and by the time Bobby sang this song, just about everyone liked it. Most people could feel in their hearts a new, terrific chapter in music had begun.

I saw a clip of a press conference during that time and a reporter asked him about losing his audience by going electric - his response was simply; “They’ll come around.”

That’s incredible confidence from a barely out of his teens artist.

The movie A Complete Unknown captures what it must have been like to be there for Bob Dylan’s finale. I didn’t get to experience it in 1965, but having seen the movie in the theater twice this week, I came as close as possible. 59 1/2 years late. But as they say, better late than never! Thank you, Bob Dylan, James Mangold and Timothee Chalamet ❤

I really enjoyed Feb 2025 seeing the Dylan movie, "A complete unknown." I was a teenager in the 1960's and loved Bob Dylan and so many other great bands. Love live Rock n Roll.

Little did they know that this would be one of the best albums ever made and this moment changed rock n roll history forever. As bob said himself, “the booing is just as important as the cheering”

They didn't know what they were witnessing. Now they do and say I was there the day Dylan plugged in his electric guitar and pissed off Pete Seeger.

If they booed Bob Dylan at his peak... what's left for us who will most probably never get to see him live?

A major moment in music history. Saw Dylan about 10, starting in 1987.

Dylan was not smiling and polite like his colleagues. Others later began to copy Dylan's style as well. He was confident in his talent and knew what he was doing.

It took those fans a while to adjust to that electric guitar.
