I had had enough of p2w games, but I decided to give CoD a go after seeing the Viva La Dirt League advert. CoD has all the usual hallmarks of a p2w game. If you are f2p then you are there to make the p2w players feel good, no matter how hard you grind to try and keep up. When a whale takes a single legion through 20-30 f2p players and takes negligible damage, that is what they paid $$$ for. Ultimately the server will die off over time as the low power end of the player base quits and there will undoubtedly be server merges to pit the remaining players against each other. The work that has been done on this game is to a very high standard, but it has limited longetivity because of the f2p vs. p2w issue.
Hopefully CoD will keep me entertained until Ashes of Creation releases.
