You haven't addressed the main problem for seniors keeping their homes clean. That is the physical ability to do these chores. I suffer from arthritis and from chronic fatigue. We live in a large house in the country which gets very dusty. Just basic dusting and sweeping is all I can manage.

This cleaning routine is helpful but should be applied to everyone especially some lazy teenagers.

I (84 yr old living alone), do ongoing deep & routine cleaning of my home. I also garden regularly in season. Started with small areas and short time chores, resting appropriately as needed. It has helped my health tremendously, improved mobility of all joints, improved sleep etc.

I'm almost 72 and watching this video was enough stress for me for an entire year. I gave up all that regimented living years ago and my stress and happiness levels have skyrocketed. I buy paper plates and save a ton of time and money not having to do the dishes every day. I got rid of all of my extra sheets and kept only 2 sets that I change every 10-14 days.

Yes. I do all of those things. I do not like clutter. I do not like dirty dishes in the sink. I do not like an unmade bed. I do like a comfortable cozy home.

My home is always spotless for all these reasons and then some. I start my day making my bed as I get out of it. Picking up as I go. Putting away things as I get through using them. Washing the dishes as soon as the meal is over. Doing the laundry as soon as the hamper which holds ONE washer full is full. I have a place for everything and it's all in its place. This helps seniors who are forgetful and always misplacing things. If they are in the same spot each time you never lose them! A key holder by the front door assures you can find keys and your purse. I keep a cellphone in my purse and one in a bedside table. I am grateful for my home, and proud to be able to invite ANYONE in at any given moment! Great video! These tips are HABITS I cultivated as a child thanks to a Mother who also took pride in her home and nurturing her family!

Spending time in God’s Word and prayer before bed always helps me feel relaxed and spiritually grounded.

Dont jump out of bed& make bed immediately. pull down covers & sheets & let bed linens breathe for a few minutes & make bed after breakfast or coffee

I remember my mom tidying up every night before bed. 6 kids and a very clean, tidy home every day.
She continued this routine all of her life.

I have learned to take 15 minutes before bed to straighten up. It really makes a difference. Also having a morning routine that includes prayer, exercise and a hot bath!! Self care is important!

This is a way of life for most people . I've been doing this all my life and I am now 87 yrs old. I was taught this by my mother and grandmother. We are/ were Scottish this is normal house keeping.

Why wait till you're a senior to have a cleaning routine? Many of the "jobs" you mentioned my mother had me do while growing up. I don't feel guilty when I skip a chore or shake up my routine but my house is usually clean and neat. I still have a carpet sweeper to use for a quick clean up if I am in a hurry. My mother said the house should be neat at night because God walks through then. I am 77 and hope to catch him sometime.

Growing up, my mom stayed home and did everything...cleaning, baking, gardening, sowing, cooking, she did it all and full of energy. I on the other hand learned very little and later worked in an office for years. I have realized all that sitting was not good with very little exercise. I literally had to get used to standing for longer hours. Even though I look young for my age, my health is not the best. Just my opinion, but I believe what has been done to food and our environment really affect us over time. This video has inspired me. I may not be able to accomplish it all, but being smart about it and better organizing is now my goal...
