I love when you pronounce English words correctly but just with a French accent. It sounds so much better.

I think my big book this year is going to be Anna Karenina. My plan is to read at least four classics this year and I think Anna Karenina is the biggest one I picked.

I vote: 1. Crime and Punishment, 2. Finish Monte Cristo, and 3. The Reality Dysfunction because that’s the ultimate big book challenge since it’s over 1000. You can do it!

Crime and punishment is one of my favorites! In some parts is really slow, but it’s worth it. It really makes you think. Highly recommend!!

I The Secret History but The Goldfinch is my favourite book of all time!!! I do recommend reading TSH first tho because it's more accessible, if you like it then definitely give The Goldfinch a shot!

The Passage is big and scary, but so worth reading, and the books in the series only get better as you keep going (I finished City of Mirrors this year). Good luck with your Big Books challenge! I really need to pick up a Neal Stephenson book at some point, but his books are so intimidating!

I am planning to read Dune next year too! Also having plenty of big books in TRL, hopefully will finish most of them! Also having read C&P and Idiot, I will read another Dostoyevsky classic- Eternal Husband, but it only being novella I do not think it counts as a big book (although all D books are huge in a way...)

Firstly, remember that the print size, page size and font as well as paper thickness will make books bigger than they really are. If you look at different editions, you’ll get a better feel for the real length of the story. Don’t be afraid of Donna Tartt. She’s brilliant. And you will love Dune. Which is tiny in paperback. I personally love big, long books bc there’s just more story.

Finish Le Compte because if you start Les trois mousquetaires you'll have to read the sequel Vingt ans après and if you read that you'll have to read the third book in the trilogy, Le vicomte de Bragelonne, which is split into three books in the Folio classique edition and those three books add up to 2700 pages! But it's fast paced and a wonderful series to read when you decide to embark on the adventure! I read those last 2700 pages in one month: something I've never done! But for now, Le Compte!

Omg "A Little Life" will break you apart piece by piece. I just finished it. It's normally hard for a book to make me cry and although it is a very very sad book, I cried once. Majority of the books on your reading list is on my reading list, so I'll be joining your big book challenge.

I literally have the same fears about Dune! I have it on my shelf... waiting. So if you read it in 2019 I will too! 🤝

I'm reading Dune with you this year! I'm going to predict that even if it's not to my liking, I'd still be able to appreciate the enormous impact it had on the science fiction world.

Dune and Needful things are both books I really enjoyed and I have The Passage on my 2019 TBR list.

Ah, you and I are kindred spirits, lol. My absolute favorite trope is the Groundhog Day trope where someone lives a chunk of time over and over. I also love Time Travel stories in general (even though they are always full of paradoxes/plot holes). I'd love to see you do a video about books with this trope; that would be so fun! :D
