Hello! I just discovered your channel. Looks like I have a lot of great videos to explore. If you do manage to read Berlin Alexanderplatz, I highly recommend the audiobook version narrated by Julian Elfer. It's excellent! The book is sometimes funny, yes, but also pretty pretty grim.

Thank you for The Makioka Sisters had never heard of it and I am a Japanese enthusiast 👍, though I do know Tanizaki and honestly have found him underwhelming. You completed a lot more of your list than you DNFed last year 😮😼! So there was no problem as long as you are always reading and writing or planning your writing you are doing well 👍 And it's no big deal to take your time with a Dickens I don't believe many people actually move quickly with that bore! 😁😸DO make more videos as many of us are interested! "Native Son" is very bleak you may want to finish it in early March or it will throw off your spring! But that is how Wright was his "The Outsider" is a favorite of mine and is even more downbeat.

I had been thinking of getting to *Our Share of Night* in October for Spooky month - I'm not much of a horror reader, but I keep hearing such great things about it, and October is a time when I'm more in the mood for that kind of thing! I'm going to read it in the original Spanish. Though now I'm curious about your beef with the translator? 🤔
I've read all of the *Shadow of the Wind* books! They're great. #2 is a prequel and can be read in any order, but you do definitely have to read #3 before #4, as the story in the last one follows right on the story in the third. I also just loved *A Tale for the Time Being* . Hope you enjoy all those as much as I did!
The *Makioka Sisters* and *Berlin Alexanderplatz* have both been on my TBR for a while, but I'm not sure if I'll manage to get to them this year - my plate is already getting full!

Maybe it would be easier on yourself if you didn't assign a month for each book. Just tell us what you want to get done in the year and then you will have some choice on which to pick up next. Just a suggestion. 🤔😊

That a wide-ranging selection of choices. I have _Makioka Sisters_ on my list but I probably won’t get to it this year. 😢

I Loved The Makioka Sisters. I had a really hard time putting it down. Timothy Snyder's books are so good. Stalin's treated the Ukrainians as awfully as Hitler treated the Jews.
