I am an FAA Part 107 sUAS Certificate holder. While FUN is always the objective for me, I also believe in adherence to the rules set forth in order to fly safely and smartly.

Congratulations on your achievements! When it comes to remote id, I plan on going with the cheapest one I can, even if the module only broadcasts 100 ft, bare minimum for compliance.

Nice video. I’m a fixed wing flyer and even though I have an e-flite remote ID I just got one of these. Plugging the e-flight one into the receiver works fine but sometimes I like to bring more than one model to the field, and some airplanes don’t have easy access once assembled. This little thing with its own battery should be quite handy.

Not sure about the whole remote ID thing. Might make casual drone buyers think twice, but someone intent on doing bad things is going to home build and not comply with the remote ID law either.

Thanks for the review, wish I saw this ealier, bought two from E-flite for $99. This is all self contained and no extra soldering for power plug like the E-flite modules require. Gonna use this on my Potensic Atom.

Appreciate the insights. I just got mine in the mail today and will be using with my Anafi.

To get your FAA ID you will need to take and pass a 4 part test. I am building a large quad and in addition to everything else I need to get a Ham Technician license because my video transmitter can out 1 watt of power.

Remote ID is looming here in the UK.
Probably won't be quite the same as the US but thanks for showing us what we may end up with.
I will be going with the cheapest thing available once we go down that route !

Interesting video. I appreciate it and have an experiment suggestion. From anywhere power on the holystone with app forced closed on your phone. Drive somewhere else. Launch the app and see if the app knows where you first powered on the hardware.

Thanks, easy to follow. QUESTION - I forgot to write down the remote ID number. I need it to go into the FAA Drone Zone website to update my registration information with the remote ID number. Is there a way to see this in the Drone Go2 app?

Great video! Thank you for the clear explanation! It's funny that the Drone Scanner App can only track an SUAS to 500 feet. I guess the Official (FAA or local Law enforcement) will pretty much have to be right near you to track your drone? I am a 107 Pilot and will be fully compliant with Remote ID.

New tosay to you channel. Very interesting info on the RID. I fly back of my house, the field i go to is FAA approved, but the members hate helicopters, only 3 of 75 people have them.
So ill be leaving the membership in July.
Ill check out the RID, but really like dronetag one you showed.
Whats you thought on the money end of each????😊

Thank you for your value insight on the Holy Stone unit. As you suggested you were going to do, I entered my drone registration number as the operator ID. It shows on drone scanner as invalid data. Only way I have gotten rid of the invalid data is by using my full name. Was wondering how that worked out for you?

I'm sitting here with my brand new HolyStone ID module with phone in non-airplane mode, on bluetooth is on, and app open. 2 lights on the module lit up. App sees nothing. Tried multiple times.
What am I missing? Thanks!
