There is a good reason I did not mention FRIAS (FAA recognized identification area) which does not require the use of Remote ID. As of today there has been no approved FRIA applications although hundreds have been submitted. This is due because the national environmental policy act is still open for comments. Also we know the FPV Freedom Coalition has stated the FAA only plans on approving a total of 4, 000 FRIA sites in the Untited States which will not cover much ground at all for not requiring the use of Remote ID.

I'm an ex heroin user FPV SAVED MY LIFE no joke i'd be dead! First of all thank you for your video! It's completely unreasonable to ask us to not only put a remote id module on our quads but forced to put a GPS module as well!! Also, you need to wait to get a GPS lock before you even fly my battery will be dead by then lol. Not only is there no room for these modules do you know how hard it is to get a GPS lock before you rip with so many interferences. I like how you reenacted a scenario and not only would they sneak up but most the time you have goggles on your face and are COMPLETELY unaware of your surroundings. Lemme give you another scenario... You go out for a RIP like any other day and keep going a year later you get a knock on your door. The police come in and say you were logged in an area where a dead body was found at the time of a potential crime. Hell it might not be a dead body maybe it was a break-in or anything else! All of our flights will be logged and tracked and probably the data will be sold. Bottom line why should FPV need RID if we're only flying below the tree line within LOS for 4 minutes at a time?!?!

Thanks so much for the video. Now the FAA can't say "we didn't realize this risk" when (and I mean *WHEN* ) it actually happens. Their claims that anyone who is attacked as a result of being located through the RID app should simply call 911 when this happens. This shows the level of disconnect between the FAA's view of the world and reality. Great work.

RID is not only flawed because it literally puts a giant target on your back and opening the pilot AND quad up to physical attack, robbery and murder, it's also just straight-up unconstitutional for the following reasons:

1st Amendment: RID forces the average quad pilot to ask permission to exercise their right to take aerial photographs and video and to express ourselves via those photographs and videos. We have the right to do this activity anonymously without government consent or approval. Photography is not a crime.

4th Amendment: The right against unreasonable searches and seizures. Remote ID is an unreasonable search of our instant location and activity to be reported to the government without warrant BY OURSELVES, which leads to the next point.

5th Amendment: The right against self-incrimination. Remote ID can (AND ABSOLUTELY WILL) be used against us as testimony against ourselves depending on when, where or how we fly. I will not provide this information to the government.

6th Amendment: Due process. This shifts the burden of proof of wrongdoing from the government to a proof of innocence by the pilot. We've already seen what happens when the government shifts the burden of proof from themselves to us via "Civil Asset Forfeiture". Instead of the government having to prove something was done illegally, they force us to prove we didn't. This cannot be allowed to continue and I will not accept this shift of burden onto MY back.

9th Amendment: Outright states that not all of our rights and liberties are enumerated. Essentially, we have the right to do whatever we wish as long as we don't infringe upon someone ELSES rights. Without demonstrable CAUSE, our liberties are protected and innumerable unless and until we ACQUIESCE to them being taken. I do not acquiesce.

14th Amendment: Equal Protection under the law. A clear case of discriminatory preferential policy aimed at giving OUR air space to big businesses like Amazon and Google without regard for OUR RIGHT to make use of said air space. We're not the ones flying 10, 000 feet up or higher, we typically fly close to the ground. Remember, the airspace above still belongs to WE THE PEOPLE. THEY are simply delegated the authority to regulate commercial traffic (I'm sorry, but the individual quad pilot making some pocket change from their hobby by posting on YouTube is NOT 'commercial' in my eyes, regardless of how they'd like to define it.) Remote ID is an excessive regulatory action and clearly aimed to surveil our activities without warrant or cause, which will result in the death of the hobby from a personal and individual standpoint.

And finally, the Declaration of Independence: The absolute and unalienable right to the pursuit of life, liberty and happiness without government permission, intrusion or intervention.

The US Government was meant to be LIMITED in scope and nature and it is REQUIRED that we be adequately represented and given a voice. Does it seem to be "limited" in any way to you? Do ANY of you feel represented? Listened to? How about a voice, do you feel heard? How about simply ACKNOWLEDGED? I certainly don't on any of these points. This government is NOT *OUR* government. It's THEIRS. To truly be an American is to challenge and to deny authority where it not only doesn't exist, but CANNOT exist. Now is that time. The FAA doesn't have the authority to override our Constitutional rights any more than Congress does. A fight is coming, and they're the ones begging for it. How will we answer?

I will not comply.

In the UK, the C.A.A. Are looking at remote idea. The council has banned all drone flying in my city and its not stopping me from flying as they don't own the air space. I'm a countryside flyer and have permission from certain land owners to land and take off.

I will NEVER attach an RID module to any of my aircraft. Please remain safe and use drones responsibly, this is all you need to do, carry on and keep flying. I've been flying R/C Models since the early 90's, mostly sailplanes and scale warbirds, and it's tragic how far the hobby has been regulated into a tiny box... when a foam or balsa wood model weighing less than a football (and flying slower) is illegal to fly without RID.
FAA tries to call this a "digital license plate"- it's not. like another person said: the closest thing to this Remote ID system is the ankle bracelet's used to track criminals on house arrest... but applied to everyone even if they've never committed a crime.
This overregulation is rapidly destroying a fun, educational hobby.

I believe that Remote ID (RID) will be a problem in areas of Metropolitan Cities because of the increase in crime across this nation because it can give the criminal another tool to fuel his lawlessness. A better options would be Shielded Operation for all drones not being used for delivery purposes. Delivery drones should have RID and not those doing this as a hobby.

I have a mavic air 2 which I am told and I looked on the FAA website it is not compatible with built-in remote ID and I'm not about to spend or put something on top of my drone my question is will the Drone still be able to take off or will it be grounded? All's I know is I'm not updating any firmware

Imagine you (or your child) are flying RID compliant and unbeknownst you a nefarious and intentionally non-compliant operator is using your presence as cover to harass or cause damage nearby. The authorities (or bystanders) use the app to find the source of harassment and locate you (or your child) instead. Now you have a lot of explaining to do for being compliant and following the rules while the nefarious bad actor slips away unnoticed. Thanks FAA!
