Maybe it's trust, but we've consistently heard from people that the easiest way to get vince to do stuff is to convince Vince it was vinces idea. That how Corny pitched hell in a cell to vince. And that's how Patterson and Russo pitched literally everything to him.

i believe it was jericho, but he found a way to convince vince to let certain wrestlers have finishers that promotions wrestlers had by describing them first and letting vince name rather than using the accepted name.
