Can I ask integrated google assistant to turn on and off the tv without touching the control?

I bought this TV because I thought it would be perfect to replace my Amazon cube with Alexa, because let's face it Google knows a lot more than Alexa. But here's the problem, they thought it would be a perfect idea to make it so when you want to use the Google Assistant you have to find the remote and press a button before you can ask Google a question. So now I have a brand-new 50-inch 4KSmart TV but running through the HDMI port with my Amazon Alexa cube hooked up. So basically I replaced my 50in non Smart TV with a new TV that is virtually the same in every way except that it is a smart TV but I cannot use the smart features that are built into the TV. Great job Phillips!

To me the main use case for the Google Assistant is when I don't have the remote. Either because I can't find it, don't want to get it or simply have my hands full with something else. Requiring a button on the remote to activate it makes it an almost useless feature to me.
