Making a 40 minute video essay about a guy predicting that content and engagement will destroy society is so unbelievably ironic it makes me lightheaded

Born before the internet and grew along side it, makes it easier to discern the the ill implications social media can have on a young individual.
I do feel bad for the current generation, as they can't compare, to live in a world without social media.

I wanted to watch this, but my brain literally cannot absorb information from all the YouTubers who now talk in this kind of hypnotic mind-numbing cadence

I miss Bo. But I'm glad he chose his sanity over his calling.

Thanks for making this. I've always been a fan of Bo and it's really cool to have such an in depth and thought provoking piece on his career and commentary.

Bo had the unfortune to be born highly intelligent and both socially aware. A painful combo.

I felt that "thank you Mrs. Perry" in my soul. Perfect response to that weirdly uncomfortable introduction.

Smoking was a great example for what's going on with social media, we all know it's bad for us we all know what's going on yet we all continue on. It is a full on addiction and it's scientifically designed to get you addicted, they do not care about health they do not care about us, I've been saying this all for so long and I sounded like a crazy conspiracy hippie but now it's known. Giving things your full attention is so important, being bored is important, we do not need constant stimulisation it's incredibly bad for us.

Great video. It is wild to hear that people did not find "Inside" funny. My wife and I have watched it like 20 times since release and still laugh. We even have inside jokes about it. The only segment that lacked any real humor was the song "That Funny Feeling" and the breakdown scene right after. Sure the lyrics are heavy/dark, but it is contrasted by the performance/delivery. The humor is there, in the contrast, like most of Bo's stuff, really.

I'm realizing after I watched all 43 minutes of this video that I rarely watch anything longer than 10 minutes with complete undivided attention anymore. I need to relax and stop filling every waking second with a video or music or a podcast. The internet can be a great tool for connection, but it's also isolating when you're tuning out the world and real life by consuming content

His old songs are supposed to be offensive. But the thing is, what people really need to start realizing about comedy is that Bo was mocking prejudice and ignorance not supporting it. Klan Cookout is a song that pokes fun at the Klan. My whole family is a self aware roasting of himself and his insecurities.

Bo Burnham is a philosopher of our time and he's going to go down in history as timeless. His mental health issues and struggling with how the world works will be studied for generations by so many people. He is a genius and I respect him on another level.

Lol the "thank you MRS Perry" emphasis on the MRS cracked me up. A subtle " hey bitch you're married stop being weird"

i was a die hard Bo fan first seeing "im bo yo" and a bunch of his other youtube songs. his first few netflix specials were great... the nostalgia of his special "words words words" is unreal, as a lot of his earliest songs are in that special. he is extremely talented and gifted and i'm glad he got the recognition he deserved. very entertaining on stage yet so self aware. thank you for this video Pat

Bo came out of nowhere. He was an inspiration to me as a young adult. Man mastered his craft and fucked off from public life. A real one, if there ever was... He's spot on about YT now. All the big sub/view channels are mostly derivative/commentary of other media.

Bo never "disappeared". He just made a career move to being behind the camera instead of in front of it.
