So the UK is now a low wage, high tax, high inflation, high cost, high borrowing economy with reduced investment in public services.

This is horrific fiscal policy.

The most obvious advice should be do everything you can to reduce your energy consumption.

Can someone explain 2 things if energy companies are making record profits why are energy bills so high secondly since the idea of raising interest rates is to slow down a overheated economy how does it help with our current situation where inflation isn't being caused by demand

So energy is a third of pensions.
What about the so called living wage?

How much is the average proportion of living wage recipients' income, and what's the average rent/mortgage for those folk?

And they're talking about increasing the pension age. The warm home discount has apparently gone for claimants who aren't high users of energy. It's not good, we're all worse off. People relying on cars for work( it's impossible in some areas to use public transport) will not be able to afford to get to their cut in real terms jobs. I hope people don't fall for this as they did the 350 m a week for the NHS. Smiling assassins.

It's going up by more than 20% though isn't it. In reality when you take the 400£ support off isn't the current cap 2100£. It's misleading, really the increase is 900£ a year, shocking

Energy bills up, council tax going up. Standards of living set to drop.

Well done, Tories! You've stuffed the country up more horrifically than anyone thought possible! 😂👍

I trust that the £900 “for those on benefits” includes pensioners who are getting Pension Credit?

Great analysis of the unknown / somewhat hidden aspect of the Hunt ‘Budget’ by the people’s financial ‘Hero’, Martin Lewis.

In August 2015, the department admitted using fictional stories from made-up claimants on leaflets advertising the positive impact of benefit sanctions, following a Freedom of Information request from Welfare Weekly, claiming that they were for "illustrative purposes only" and that it was "quite wrong" to pass these off as genuine quotes.

Wondering if anyone can help, the first 12k I earned last year I didn’t get taxed on and now I have a tax bill to pay this year. Is that correct or shouldn’t I owe any tax?

Some people do not understand the tax system. If your wage increases from 12, 000 to 13, 000, A single person will only pay an extra 190 tax on the extra 1000 The full 13K is not taxed at that rate. remember we are coming out of a period where interest rates and taxes were quite low and the net result was uncontrollable housing costs. Why should young people pay for our luxury retirement plans?

Serving us poison with a smile, typical tory strategy.

Has this man's advice ever been effective? Any evidence of that, from someone whose already a multi millionaire is very ironic.
