Love these type of channels, usually end up joining them 2-3 years into it so to see all this from the beginning is going to be great

Who even needs a gym with all this work to be done! Surprised the swimming pool isn't first priority - I hear Mark loves a swim

Great job. I’ve got a Portex Logmaster and they are fantastic bits of kit for cutting up logs and branches.

9.35 clever editing by mark just as the logs fell out 😉

😂 Jen’s butt shape on the tailgate of the cart was just too funny 😂- No, you don’t need to make Jen into a log of wood, just get a better cart! Bigger so you can haul more less often! Work smarter, not harder. Maybe look into purchasing a tractor with a bucket lift you can swap out when needed with a fork lift. You’ll need it on a property that large. It was the best investment I made for my farm! And, it won’t get stuck! ❤
Love all the new wood cubbies! Great job you two- thank you for ‘hauling’ us along… get it? 😂❤

Please don’t put the tarp on the front. Air flow is way more important than stopping a like rain hitting the wood on a stormy day. The purpose of the log store is to let the sap dry from the wood. Airflow is key to this That gives you the clean burn from seasoned logs. The log store roof is more than adequate as is the fact you have made a good base to the store.
Great work.

Always logging in this weather. Especially here in North Devon. By the way your chainsaw is blunt. Love the vlogs

Another good watch, only just thought of you this morning, not been able to run due to flu and a chest infection, pushed hard at end of Parkrun took a place just on the line Mark style, and just snuck in above average . Our son has a wood burner and pays a lot of money for bags of wood.

Great work. Loving the series. I’d recommend wearing some chainsaw chaps/trousers every time you use the chainsaw. Good luck with everything. 👍🏻

After - Before? Good work regardless 👍🏻

No need to cover front of log store with a tarp. Rain water on logs doesn’t matter. It’s the moisture in the wood ie sap that needs drying out. Covering it will defeat this

I can see a ‘Dick Strawbridge’ career for Mark (just without the ‘tache) and Jen’s a bit of a natural as well. Good effort, keep it up.

Was going to ask for an update on how the dogs like living in the country but believe I saw Nixon toward the end of the video?

Won’t that wood get wet with rain/wind and the air humidity? Shouldn’t it be in closed doors?

I'd recommend putting some more time into researching different concepts for drying wood. It's important for it to get air all around most of the logs (3 logs deep is max) and to split them quickly into the smallest sensible diameters you're going to use. Doing this all in the cold is perfect, since the air will be dry and pull out more residual humidity... Also: drying in general is something that happens over a long time. The water on the outside does not stop this process on the inside, so you don't have to be worried if the wood is rained on or lies on the wet ground for a little while, that this is a problem. It's not.

You are doing great, muppets or not 🙈🙈. Your enthusiasm will help you a long way, but there is also quite a bit of learning to do.
I sincerely want you both to avoid thus I propose that Mark (and eventually Jen too) find some kind of training courses, where he learns how to use a chain saw, with proper guidance from a professional. Learn not only to cut with it safely (by far the most important part to learn), but maintenance, how to oil it, how to shift the chain, how to sharpen it and so forth 👍👍👍. Getting those things right from the beginning can save you A LOT of time and effort and possibly keep you from injury.
The day when you really need to split wood in bulk, consider using a log splitter (machine). If you choose the much more fun and fit way i.e. using an axe, make sure you have a good splitting axe/maul. Fellow youtuber Thoren Bradley has nice videos on the topic - the Fiskars axe is an OK product, but the hollow handle sends far more vibration up into your shoulders than a wood handle does. Know, that there are huge differences between cutting axes and splitting axes/mauls. A dedicated splitting axe/maul cannot fell a tree, but it is WAY superior at splitting wood. A cutting axe can fell a tree, and CAN be used for splitting, but it requires far more energy to do it.
Again, there is time, effort, health and possibly money to save by getting proper equipment.
Take care and keep making those awesome videos 👍☀️❤️☀️👍.
