Maybe make a video about the exotic switches then. I feel like everyone already knows the difference between red brown and blue.

Shared the house during lockdown with a school teacher teaching over zoom on the other end of the house, and kids were still asking what that rattling noise was. It was me and my cherry MX blue keyboard, writing 🤣 I switched to Cherry MX Silent (pink) after that

This was so short...so short...I didn't expect how short...I thought it was going to be a treatise and it ended up being a nod and a wink.

"Brown are bumpy and tactile"

Glarses :

Browns are not tactiles as the bump is barely there, but is more of a scratchy linear

My weapon of choice are either Black or Clears.

Would have been nice is there was some sample sound from each key type

Holy cow, if Reds are considered quiet, I don't even wanna see others, damn! I jsut recently switched from membrane keyboards to mechanical Corsair K63, and man, that thing is super loud. However the typing is super comfortable and nice for me.

Give vintage ALPS some LTT love and encourage them to start making switches again. Just bought two Apple M0115 keyboards, one with Orange ALPS, and the other with Salmon ALPS. Best tactile switches ever made.

the "tactile" bump of the cherry MX browns. Glarses would have something to say about this.

There are many more "Exotic Cherry Switches" :P

I have MX browns at home and they are pretty good for mashing F to attack. But when I was working from home I found them way too sensitive for typing. At work I have an el-cheapo Logitech MK370 keyboard and mouse combo. I find that I can type way more accurately as you have to press all the way down to register a key stroke.

I use browns myself. My husband likes the blues. And yeah, he used them in an office setting for a bit haha.

I'd love a longer Tech Quickie on this, maybe expanding the time by taking about how these "tactile bumps" are implemented and tuned. Also, what's the actual hardware difference between a Cherry switch and all the Chinese variants out there?

I like the brown switches, but here in the UK most keyboards which even give you a choice only seem to offer red or blue.

I have the red switches and yeah they are pretty smooth

I remember when somebody brought a full Cherry MX Blue keyboard to school

And the video didn't include a single sound clip of any of the switches...

I like blue switches because I like the clicky feel. It’s not a problem because I use P2T.
