But in some cases, it is more than that. Directory sites need local SEO, local profiles can rank and even your HTML page is important to local SEO. In this video, John Lincoln from Ignite Visibility breaks down local SEO.

Learn what local SEO is, who it is important for, how to measure your local search success, what the main factors are for local SEO and how to do an advanced local SEO optimization on your website and my business page.

Hi John, when would you look to rank a micro site - such as a directory listing, over an html page of your own website? For brand queries, I would expect an html home page to rank organically, a my business listing to rank in the local results, and a knowledge graph to show as well. For service based queries like "plumber location", I would also be looking to rank an html page on my site organically (as I can control and monitor the UX more easily) and a my business listing in the local maps pack. Are you suggesting getting the micro sites to rank for similar service related phrases as well to get multiple first page rankings with different web properties? Thanks.
