8 strand globe knot

In this tutorial I demonstrate the 8 stranded globe knot, as shown in Des Pawson's knot craft and rope mats. This knot is ideal for finishing projects such as whips, bell ropes, floggers etc.

The knot takes a bit of getting used to, but it is a really nice one. Once you know how to tie it you can use other strand numbers as well.

Decent demonstration. But, I don't know about that knife finish. I really don't recommend that at all. I was cringing the entire time that the knife would go too far and slice the work. If you need a flush cut, use a backing material to protect the work, or, better yet, actually use "flush cutters." The remaining flush-cut end can then be tucked into the knot.
