Originally founded by Roman Catholic missionaries as the Mission San Antonio de Valero, the Alamo was initially established for the education of converted Native American residents in the mid 1700’s. Secularised in 1793, then abandoned, the mission became a base for various causes, including revolutionaries and rebels. The Alamo site was then developed as a fortress which came under attack in 1836 from self-proclaimed Mexican dictator, General Santa Anna.

When I was stationed at Lackland AFB, I would go to the Alamo often with my daughter. I saw the little boy in the window above the gift shop. Yes, he was blond. And I figure he was a child who got away from his parents. A tourist or something. I told the people working there that there was a little boy in the upstairs area and looking out the window. Sure enough, they checked. So did the ground security. Nothing. Thought I was losing my mind or maybe imagined it ... until this video. I had no idea about the little boy until I watched this. Thank you!

An old friend of my Grandma owned a house back in the day where she had a tunnel that leads up to the Alamo. I don't know what happened to the house, like if it's still standing but I couldn't believe it when I was told the story. There's still so much I am learning about my home town.

I don't blame the ghosts for being pissed. They built a shopping center on their graves!!

I’ve had only 1 experience.
To begin with I lived in San Antonio all my life. Born and raised there, anyways this happened when I was 7 or 11 years old. It was my grandmother and sister and of course myself. I walked in the front door of the Alamo before them and there was already a line formed, so I waited. Upon entering the front doors on your far right in a corner is a make shift jail cell completely bared off from the public, it doesn’t seem like it can be accessed by anyone unless you remove the cemented bars. So as I was waiting I noticed a shadow figure in the said jail cell in the fetal position head in hands with knees brought up to its face, at that same time I felt an overwhelming sense of sorrow and anger like I lost something great to me. I almost cried when I turned to face the figure, you guessed it, it was gone. From then I never told anyone about that experience until now

I live in Texas and my sister in San Antonio. Anytime I'm there, I will go to the Alamo. The last time I was there I walked the outside wall on the sidewalk, thinking about what took place in the area I was walking, I had the thought, it sure would be nice to have a souvenir, but I knew it's a crime to remove anything from a US military park. The moment after having that thought, 5 yards ahead of me, I saw a piece of the wall fall out and drop a chunk onto the sidewalk. I looked around, bent down and picked up my "prize". I said "Thank you" and moved along.
Weird.

Back in 2001 I was a manager for a drug store on the Riverwalk, one block over from the Alamo. I spent six months there and had three experiences that I couldn't explain. There was even a store room that most employees refused to go into; I was the only one who would ever go into that room.

Thank you for this interesting video. I've been fascinated with the history of the Alamo for years and felt very deeply for the suffering and death of so many lives!
I was watching a set of videos about the hauntings, to see the entire area of the site, and was fortunate to find these images. I never realized the area was so large, and the one "wall" almost non-existent, making it especially difficult to defend. As I looked at the film, the entire walk around the building, the hair on my back, neck and scalp stood on end! Only when they showed the beautiful old trees who spread their luxuriant branches so majestically, did I feel some strong peace coming from them. I hope it gives the spirits some comfort and pray that their souls will all go into the Light. Rest in peace, you defenders of freedom. Rest in peace all of you who laid down your lives here. Our countries are at peace now, your deaths were avenged at a later battle. Please let go of the earth plane and move on.
Freedom is a very precious right and we need to be aware that our Democracy is now in peril. Let love, peace and justice prevail.

A friend of mine and I visited on the 173rd Anniversary of the battle. We stayed at the Menger Hotel. The ceremony was scheduled to start, I believe, at
6 am. Tom went to the plaza between 4:30 and 5 am to get a picture of the front of the chapel before people started milling around. It was a sprinkling rain.
He had a quality camera, with tripod, and got a great picture of the chapel. When the picture was developed, in the same rectangular window mentioned in this video, right above the chapel door, the figure of a man, from the waist up, can be seen.
His face is pointed in the direction of the North Wall. Not one single person I have shown this picture to (printed on 8/12 by 11 paper) denies they see this figure, including those who laughed at me when I told them about it before they saw the picture. I am thrilled to see this video and at last have 3rd party cooberation!!!!

Just across the square from the Alamo is the Menger Hotel which is also supposed to be crawling with ghosts. Maybe it's built on top of some of those graves.

It seems for the people who live around The Alamo Mission and the property itself, life has never been the same since 1836. The men who fought in the battle or were around back then seem to be still repeating their traces on that day.

I didn't think it was paranormal but you could feel the death stained on the floor, I walked out feeling drained from that experience

I went to the Alamo about 2 years ago and captured a soldier like figure peering out of one of the front windows. I still have the pictures if anyone would like to see them. I would like to know which side he was fighting for, in the picture he seems to have on a brown uniform with a pretty large hat.

The entire Alamo Plaza is under a huge renovation project, the city is clearing space to create a larger area instead of shops, etc. since the original space was very large, and there are human remains everywhere around the area. The Long Barracks are now closed to the public, since the huge numbers of tourists going through it was creating a humidity problem that was literally dissolving the plaster and limestone walls! I don't think they'll ever be open again, since the site has become so fragile.
One cool computer program is a table with the original Alamo complex laid out and you can project the years after the battle to today and see how buildings and businesses and roads were constructed on the land around the shrine. It was incredible how large a space there was, and how many people were fighting and dying all around it!
