In the second marxism lecture I look at the sociological side of marx's philosophy including ideology, alienation and base/superstructure of capitalism. The video also discusses Louis Althusser and the Ideological State Apparatus (ISA).

The video delves into:
1:10 - alienation
6:40 - base and superstructure
9:45 - ideology, the unconscious, and Iron Man 2 (zizek)
14:11 - althusser and the Ideological State Apparatus

Do you agree with Marx? Are we alienated from our human nature? Does ideology construct out social reality? Let me know in the comments!

Did Mark Fisher get most of his ideas for capitalist realism from Marx's view of ideology?

It kinda blows since these kinds of concepts are some of the ideas I really want to expound on, but I essentially live in a country that has no strong philosophy department (The Philippines). Philosophy is kind of scarcity here unless you're studying law, and being in the East doesn't really help either. Any advice on this man?
