I agree with the people who are saying you shouldn’t trade on margin if you’re intending on providing an accurate small account trading experience for small account traders. We don’t like trading on margin, a lot of us don’t view it financially viable due to risk of debt and a lot of us just aren’t comfortable yet using it. Not trading on margin makes for far more relatable and educational content for the target audience, small account traders.

I don't get how so many people complain how day trading is dead, isn't it still possible - even for beginners - to net in ~1k+ per month as an alternative for a 9 to 5 job?

Out of curiosity wasn't the position sizing the reason why that first small account didn't go your way? I mean 3000 shares on a 1k account - the stops would have to be unbelievably tight not allowing the stock to breathe and if there's a minor dump of even 10 cents one would be in dire straits. You could theoretically pull that same p&l on 200 shares with a stock that has a better range. Case in point would be MBIO the other day. Faded premarket then popped on the open close to 10$. Could have taken a starter 100 share short risking premarket highs (about 40$ risk) then added another 100 as it cracked below a certain area then either trailed a stop or scalped the breakdown below 9's/8's. Was a gorgeous low-risk short for 300-400$

Day trading isn't as easy or lucrative as it might seem from the outside. If you know your stuff and follow a strategy, you can make money over time.
