I love how God works. I watched this video about 6 months ago, and I even remember telling my parish priest about it (I’m Antiochian Orthodox). Yesterday, my anger and self-righteousness made me choose to skip my parish council meeting. My sloth and depression and indifference made it easy to skip Divine Liturgy this morning. My pride told me it was ok to do all these things - my free will entitles me to be disobedient whenever I want to. I felt little remorse. I knew I was letting the demons win and I didn’t care. I wondered how I’d pull myself out of this state of mind. And then there he is, St. Porphyrios, in his humble, loving way, he reminds me of what to do and how simple an act it is.
I am by no means worthy of forgiveness - I’m very prideful and stubborn and lazy and entitled. And yet God sends me this perfectly timed reminder of how to take that first step back towards Christ, towards our Heavenly Father, open my arms and my heart, and fill it with the Holy Spirit. I know our All-Holy Trinity will keep the Adversary at bay. ☦️ Pray for us, St. Porphyrios.

That's exactly what I do. I cry to my Lord that I have nothing and am nothing without Him and I cannot fight, then I'm overcome by God's peace. God is alive and well and will bring His peace to you.

I find that the Jesus prayer and avoiding attention to it helps. Also becoming or aspiring to become more humble and gentle and loving help's. Lovely post.
