A rare recording of St. Porphyrios. He talks about his experience of Heaven and his longing for Home.

And yet, this is the truth... There is satan, there is hell, there is death, all these really exist. They are the other side, evil, darkness... They are the things of darkness.
Somebody who is Christ's must love Christ, and when he loves Christ he is delivered from the devil, from hell and from death.
You will say to me, "Are you like that?"
"No, I haven't managed yet... But that's what I'm searching for, that's what I want, in my silence, and I always try to live these things. I don't live them. But I try!"
I mean, how should I say it?! I was not in a certain place... Well, I was there once - I saw it! [Saint Porphyrios refers to Heaven] I'm not there now, but I remember it, I long for it, I desire it... I want it now, in this moment, tomorrow, the day after tomorrow, in every moment... it comes to my mind and I want it, I want to go there, I seek it. But I'm not there.
I can't explain these things to you... Do you understand?
Yes, but I struggle [to achieve these things]... Call me "stupid"...
Now you can say to me, "These are not to be said, Father! The one who tastes this does not speak, but asks the grace of God."
Yes, but when someone becomes "crazy", then he speaks! Craziness exists!
