Oil Cleansing is great at removing all your makeup and deep cleaning your skin. I listed specific oils that work with different skin types below. I usually do this once a week.

Castor oil is a great oil to begin with. Use more if you have oily skin, and less if you have dry skin. Then find an oil below to mix with it.

Honestly i love the oil cleansing method.
i bought organic "Pomegranate seed oil" "Avocado oil" "Hazelnut oil"  and " Rosehip seed oil". i love them all!! the seed oil ones smell a bit strange to me but i got used to the smell and love them now! they all smell very herbal and the Avocado one smells really strong! i use the Rosehip seed oil one the most because it gives a different effect on my skin. people think putting oil on their skins makes more oil. believe me it doesn't!!! i have oily skin and somehow i find this method to leave it moisturizing and not oily. if you have time watch this youtuber named "Cloudlyapples" she's amazing with natural products!!  and showed me the oil cleansing method. PS: try and buy cold pressed oils!!! they are pure form and not refined!!! so all the nutrients stay compact.

I blended .5 tbsp of castor oil with 1.5 tbsp of grape seed oil. I chose grape seed oil because I have some oils on my skin most of the time (never suffered from dryness). I have used this particular carrier oil before as a moisturizer, but never as a cleanser. I wanted to try this because no matter what type of face wash I use, oil free, oil-based, or with salicylic acid, my jawline is always erupted in these fairly painful, hard to conceal sores that I always thought was acne. The more I washed, the worse the sores got. So frustrating at the age of 25! I went out on a limb, and just rubbed the castor / grape seed oil blend  all over my face and removed with a warm, damp microfiber towel. The results were amazing! The blemishes on my skin began to heal overnight! I'm convinced now that my skin was reacting to my facial cleansers. I don't think I suffer from acne, I think I actually have sensitive skin that needs oils to stay healthy. I was reacting to the chemicals and perfumes in the face wash, which additionally left my skin exposed to the dirt and grime of every day life. One day after trying this new cleansing routing and I already feel like I've cured adult acne.

instead of Castor oil i use grapeseedoil, because it is a natural astringent like Castor oil.
I mix 2 parts grapeseedoil and 1 part sunflowerseedoil.
During the rest of the week i use dr. bronners liquid castile soup in tea tree :)
great and really informative Video :)

I use the Oil Cleansing Method daily, with no problems! My favorite oils are coconut oil, Jojoba oil and argan oil. Thanks for sharing! :)

I use coconut oil every night. I also only use white washcloths- this way when I wash them I can see that they are clean. When my skin is feeling extra sensitive, I use microfiber cloths that I bought from the dollar store.

Hi! I use as cleanser: 2/3 castor oil + 1/3 jojoba oil + 3 drops of tea tree essential oil. I make a bunch and use a pumper. For moisturizer I use: 1/3 argan oil, 1/3 jojoba oil + 1/3 carrot oil + 3 drops of incense essential oil. I also mix a bunch and use a pumper! I have heard that olive oil is very comedogenic and you should not be using it on your skin.
Oh! forgot to mention, my skin is super sensitive and reactive, combination. Im 34 years old

I've been oil cleansing for a long time, 2-part olive oil and 1-part castor oil work best for me, but I always tone with an organic witch hazel with rose hips oil or a rosewater blend. I oil cleanse at night with a hot washcloth after massaging the oil mixture on. I am super gentle on my skin, which is very important. I have found the Acure Organics Day, Night, and Eye Cream to work best for my skin. In the mornings, I love rosewater to refresh my skin. I used to have combination skin, but ever since I've been oil cleansing, I now have normal skin.

Tried the castor oil and olive oil mix to wash my face recently, and loooved it! Works just as good, if not better, than any cleanser I've used, and it doesn't dry out my face like most cleansers do. Thanks for the tip!

The oils I've been using is olive oil, sweet almond, + coconut oil. My routine is oil cleanse Monday + Tuesday + Wednesday I use my face brush w/ authentic liquid black soap then Thursday - Saturday Oil cleanse + Sunday do the same thing I did on Wednesday and my skin is AMAZING! So soft + up until yesterday my face was clear. I have small bumps here and there but I think it could either be my skin adjusting or it could be from the coconut oil so I have plans on switching out coconut for rose hip. Everything I've been using on my face is 100% all natural + I drink A LOT of water + eat fairly well so that could play a huge part in my results as well but this has been a life saver for my extremely sensitive combination skin that's prone to hormonal breakouts.

I oil cleanse and use grapeseed oil with only about 1/16 castor oil. I use a 2oz pump bottle and add essential oils to it as well. This works for me, and oil cleansing is so personal so, through trial and error (and probably some breakouts) find what works for you! If you have an oil concoction that works for you, don't change it for sake of experimenting! If you must, do so subtly and one oil at a time so if you break out, you know what it is that is causing it. I also love to oil cleanse first to remove makeup and wipe off, then again. Adding this extra step stopped the blackheads that slowly started to form when I cleansed only once with makeup rubbed around my face. Just like we would double cleanse "normally" at night when wearing makeup, you should also double oil cleanse.

I have been doing this every morning and every night for a couple months now.  I haven't used a regular cleaner at all.  I LOVE it. the texture of my skin has even gotten better.  I also use coconut oil at night and I like the Jose Moran argon oil to cleanse with.

You are AMAZING!! My favorite YouTube channel ever! I've been doing oil cleansing for about 2 years And I love it. it's really healed my acne, acne scars and severe dry skin. I also do a exfoliant using equal parts coconut oil and baking soda 2 to 3 times a week as well as my regular oils. I use vitamin c oil for my fine lines and acne scars after my cleansing as a serum. keep up with the videos! I love that you're into natural regimens! much love from Tennessee!! ❤

I'm 50, and have incredibly dry skin, typical for Coloradans. I used the OCM every night for about a year, then noticed my mix had molded or mildewed or something nasty. I was vigilant in keeping my container clean, so I think I just mixed too much at a time. Anyway, I got freaked out and quit. I did fine up until about a month ago, but it's so cold and dry, I'm going to start again, only use a smaller container. I did it every night, and just used washcloths. You can get a dozen washcloths for five bucks, it's no big deal. You won't need this because you're a lot younger, but I followed with my entire routine, serums, oils, nightcreams, whatever. I can't overmoisturize my skin, it's not possible. I HIGHLY recommend the OCM for anyone with dry skin.~Carla

I had never heard of oil cleansing till I stumbled onto this video through Pintrest. But, I recently purchased OLEHENRIKSEN pure truth melting cleanser at Sephora while I was looking for a new cleanser. The salesgirl warned me that it would be very different then a typical foaming wash in that you apply it to dry skin and wash off with warm water. It's also effective at make up removal, including eyes. It took a few days but now I'm hooked. I'm 47 with normal to dry skin, really dry right now in winter, even here on the California coast. It's full of oils, about 7 different ones : sweet alond, olive, lemon peel, linseed, sweet cherry seed, bitter cherry and rosa canina oil, as well as glycerin which makes it gelee like. My skin feels hydrated but I also use their moisturizer with sunscreen which is my go-to. I'm wondering if I just can't substitute this oil cleaning method daily as a cheaper alternative? Now that I'm more familiar with oil cleaning I'm definitely going to share this with others. I'm especially interested in having my teen girls try the castor oil combo. Thanks for all the super informative information!

I use straight coconut oil and warm it in my hands. It is organic. I love it but I am going to try sweet almond and castor oil. Thank you so much for this video! I wish more people would do this and I have oily skin and no breakouts.

I love that you've made this video. Figuring out which oils work for your skin can be confusing. At the moment I'm lucky enough to have gotten a free full size Julep Bare Face Cleansing Oil bottle that I love using. It has a combination of grapeseed, olive, rosehip, green coffee bean oils and lipid extract from malvaceae. I use it probably 2 times a week and love love love it! When its out I may come back to this vid and work on making my own from your list of suggestions. Im looking forward to trying out some Avacado oil in my regimen!

Great information, thank you. I have several of these oils, but never thought to use them in this way.
