Refuting St. Anselm: The Ontological Argument | HBTV 48

Anselm's "ontological argument" for God is particularly perverse. It has been refuted from several angles but has never been taken head-on. I expose the fast one that Anselm pulls while directing your attention elsewhere.

Camera angle is disconcerting, but hair looks great. Does Anselm mean “greater” in size? Moral stature? Greater then what? Great line: “Existence is not a predicate.” Is HB describing the Primacy of Imagination?? Rearranging characteristics mentally is not creating a concrete. LOL a Real-a-corn!

Modern physicists love to abuse this fallacy, which is bizarre cuz you’d think it’d seem even more absurd with physical objects.

Aren’t unicorns perceived from things in existence like a horn and horse? If so, what did mystics perceive to imagine God?

C.S. Pierce: 'If truth consists in satisfaction, it cannot be any actual satisfaction, but must be the satisfaction which would ultimately be found if the inquiry were pushed to its ultimate and indefeasible issue.' Is original pragmatism a secularized version of the ontological argument? A summing of 'all' useful effects that proves the cause?

The refutation of the ontological argument is essentially to point out that existence does not follow from conceptualization, or in Anselm’s case, from imagination. The task of consciousness is not to create existence from the contents of imagination, but to perceive existents and identify them by means of an objective method.

See Ed Feser's "Five Proofs for the Existence of God". Would like to see commentator read that book and grapple with those arguments.
