Andy, just wanna drop by and tell you a little bit about myself, i was involved in a motorcycle crash a while back and I ended up with a severely damaged spine, during my time in the hospital I was introduced to your channel by a friend, i watched you for the entire time I was there and when I came out, i bought my first model kit and started making them during my recovery, i just want to say that because of you, you helped me through the most painful and stressful part of my life and you helped me realise a hobby that I love!! I can't afford any good kits like what you get, or even an airbrush, but I still have fun and eventually I can save up for a cheap airbrush maybe haha. Thank you for everything

When Andy was first mentioning these kits arriving, I went online to Master Piece Models and looked at their offerings. Crazy range of eclectic kits: dinosaurs, wild west figures, random WWII stuff and yes, this shovel :-) Great to see this one built Andy!

Great one! Looks like it was transported right from a construction site of days gone by. 👍🏻

Nice build Andy and your weathering is spot on. The only thing I'm disappointed about is you never showed how to you did the cable rigging since that was the part I was most interested in. Thanks for sharing. Cheers!

When I was much younger in the distant dark ages of the 70's. My Grandfather use to take me to a construction (a dam was being build) site not far from his home. What stuck me was how old the equipment was, it all dated from the forty's to the sixty's. Most of it, in retrospection was surplus military equipment. Watching this brought be some great memory. Thanks Andy now you should try to get you hands on a old Venderlin kit.

The lower structures on crawler crane’s/excavators are called undercarriages or crawler undercarriages, the upper structure (with the machinery house ) is usually called the car body. The equipment, comprises the main boom, and dipper ( bucket attached to ) . This machine is a Face shovel . Lima’s were usually two tone on the car body, lower red upper light grey. Out of all the old school shovel/Draglines, The Lima locomotive built equipment was the Rolls Royce / Cadillac of machinery 👌🏻 Beautiful model 👍🏻 thanks for sharing.

Funny, I pretty much only use CA for all my plastic models-(Unless a part requires very careful open/alignment times)- Using CA has saved my work MANY times now, if ya make a mistake, or need to re-fit/mod/re-mod a piece, you can simply snap it off @ the seam VS a chemically bonded-welding-melted piece....Works for me!

very nice build. Iat the end when you have it on the turntable you can see right into the back and the missing engine is really noticeable. Such a shame considering the cost and quality of the kit.
I wonder if there will be an aftermarket engine produced for the kit at a later date.
