Hi Everyone.

Wildlife All About lets you explore and provides Information about different types of animals. It helps you to learn more about the greatest species of animals.

Today we are going to learn more about the The arctic hare or polar rabbit. The Arctic hare
is a species of hare which is adapted largely to polar and mountainous habitats. The arctic hare survives with a thick coat of fur and usually digs holes in the ground or under snow to keep warm and sleep. Arctic hares look like rabbits but have shorter ears, are taller when standing, and, unlike rabbits, can thrive in cold climates.

Alaska is home to the snowshoe hare (L. Americanus) and the aptly named Alaska hare (L. othus). The arctic hare (L. arctus) inhabits the northernmost reaches of eastern Canada, as well as Newfoundland and Greenland. An arctic hare is much more likely to make a come-from-away kiss a cod than it is to speculate on the outcome of the next Iditarod.

Except that Arctic Hares (Lepus arcticus) aren't found in Alaska. The only hares native to Alaska are the Alaskan Hare (Lepus othus) and the Snowshoe Hare (Lepus timidus). They're cousins, though. So whatever. (Also, Antelope Jackrabbits are just as big as Arctic Hares, as are Alaskan Hares.) Kind of a hare freak, am I.

If my ancestors can tame the ancestors of cows (which are way stronger than modern day cows) we can certainly tame these hares
