Don’t say “you’re a great guy, but” because everything after that means “you’re just not good enough”. This is a real punch in the gut, no matter how much you might mean it. Offering a complement which is immediately invalidated is just bad form. Instead, *lead* with the rejection, then soften the blow with a *sincere* complement. A good example: “I’m seeing someone, but you’re a real catch, and more women should know about you.” This would leave us disappointed but hopeful, and able to work on our strengths (instead of trying in vain to figure out what we did wrong, even if we was nothing), instead of feeling like our best wasn’t good enough.

I hate the fact when women say words it can mean 5 different things vs when men say words it just simply means exactly what the word is defined as, it only has 1 meaning.
This is why when women talk to me I just reply, "whatever".
If a woman tells me that she likes me as a friend or just straight up rejects me cool.
Her loss, I tell them that too and walk away. Did this one time and went on to the next woman who I dated and took out a few times. Wasn't much of a date, more like just getting to know each other and see if we would have been a good fit as a couple. Turned out we weren't.
But meanwhile this chick that rejected me started stalking me and then decided she changed her mind about me. Simply told her, too late you had your chance. She then flipped out and physically assaulted me. And because I'm a gentleman I simply put a restraining order on her instead of pressing charges.
