I don't know what it is, but a lot of the music from the original Metroid and Super Metroid just sounds the absolute best on a piano. I do love a full orchestral arrangement for my game music, but there's something so complete and resonant when you play these themes on just one instrument such as this.

Brings me back so much … jr high, maybe late elementary even? Playing this for hours on end, I know all or most of the NES titles by heart even still. We were too poor to afford one when they came out. I spent much time at my friends house in a dimly lit living room, adorned with expensive antiques that we weren’t allowed with 3 feet of. His mother had painstakingly restored these as relief for bouts of mania. Fun times.

There is something sinister in 8-bit music that can't be duplicated in most other music. Your interpretation of Kraid's theme on the piano recaptures that sinister effect that I hear in the lower depths of Brinstar. Excelllent work.
