Colossians 2:6-7
“As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, rooted and built up in him as established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving.”
Once I accepted Christ something started changing inside of me that made me want to be more like Him and less like me, requiring me to change my vision and walk to His.
The Word begins by telling us to be rooted and built up in Him. This change in the root system is essential since that is what feeds us and makes up the consistency of the fruit we produce. It goes on to let us know we need to be established in faith, not just wavering, but secure in a sure foundation.
The Word says, “As we have been taught, abounding with thanksgiving.”
The word of God teaches us all we need to know in the holy spirit desires to instruct us in the way of the Lord.
Abounding is like overflowing and excelling and that is what the Lord wants us to do: overflow in Him, His presence and His faith. Our part is to excel in being thankful every step of the way. This gives us legs to stand and the ability to walk in the way He leads with excellence and thankfulness.
