To this day, i think this was one of the only times i ever cried watching a show/movie. This ending was perfect for a show like evangelion and i thought it had a great message about loving yourself and finding who you really are and it really stuck to me as a person, because Shinji, in my opinion showed many of the flaws humans try to hide. This ending and the tips it showed to try make you change, become happier and more confident in yourself in the process. And for that reason alone evangelion has always been my favourite anime
