If you have a solar panel system with SolarEdge Optimizers, inverters, or batteries this video was created to give you insight on what you need to know about owning a SolarEdge or SolarEdge HD Wave solar panel system.

The first thing you want to do is get verify your solar inverter or converter is connected to the internet. This will allow you to see what is wrong and to get replacement parts under warranty.

Very unhappy with solar edge and their customer service. I’m on my third inverter and they won’t even offer extended warranties. The supervisor from SE said look at your warranty coverage and said I’m out of luck. Terrible company

I have 10K solaredge inverters and had to restart one a couple times. They claim they monitor it but I didnt get any alert or call. It wasnt until I noticed in my app after randomly checking it a week after it went out. A reboot fixed it.

Here in Arizona, I've had the plastic on the MC4 connectors literally disintegrate. Not even in the sun. They replaced all of them under warranty but would not pay for the labor.

My 7.5 KW HD wave inverter died after one month, the service technician pointed out a resistor that failed. Two weeks for an RMA and it was broken out of the box. Solar edge support asked for a picture of the circuit board and immediately identified it as a faulty unit looking at the same resistor. Another two weeks and the second RMA unit was dead too. I saw a small metal heat shield attached to the offending resistor with silicone and apparently that is how they know a RMA unit and know it is not going to work. A couple of weeks later and an official solar edge technician came from Phoenix and put in a fourth inverter. It will only operate with the battery in backup mode and not in maximum self consumption. So 4 inverters and still not working correctly. I buy the cheapest stereo from China and it lasts for years. And to add insult to injury you can't control your own system. The installer has to change from backup only to self consumption.

Replaced the old inverter with a warranty replacement supplied by solar edge. The new one even after rebooting is having the same issue and will not recognize the power switch and won’t link up. Any ideas

My Solar Edge inverter is showing error 18xb7. Solar Edge has authorized replacement under warranty. They say I have to call my original installer. They are unreachable. How in the world do I get my inverter replaced. Anyone out there no of an Installer in Southern California I could contact?

Looks like SolarEdge gave them a bit of an upgrade. With a newer HD Wave inverter and backup interface system, is it easier to come back later and add an additional inverter, battery, array, etc?
