Surely the heavy paste wrap will have the hook bait sink deep in the silt ?

When fishing helicopter rigs you'll get much better hooking properties if you trap the swivel below the top bead with a float stop rather than having it sliding, you've got to leave a gap of about an inch so the swivel is free to rotate during the cast but any more than that is just giving the fish more time to reject the bait before getting enough resistance to pull the hook point in.

I love the helli rig allows me to fish most the places I go without needing to change as often silty usually weedy and one lake full of crap...know venues ban Bradford and leaders but never heard of lead set up bans!...why would the helli set up he possibly banned on a venue?

What if krayfish are present would you just use a immatation pop up to counter the krays or still opt for a bottom bait ?
