I think it'll be a good idea to do a video on how far a clipped up rig falls short in different depths

Here's an idea. Why don't you include a little graph on your impact spod packaging of the difference you need to take into account on all depths from 3ft - 25ft? Great Video - eye opening.

Great insight. Conversely if you wanted to fish on the edge of a baited area then clip at the same distance.

Thanks for the video, seeing it will improve my fishing with the confidence of knowing how to bait up accurately.

top vid again. I think this just shows how hit and miss fishing tight to a spot can be and that it's better to put more spombs out so you get a spread of bait. really enjoy anything underwater related, thank you very much

this opened my eyes for sure i was just sat here thinking what happens when you use a bait boat as the bait and the rigs are being dropped at the same time and the same distance just like it would be doing when spodding at the same distance to your rigs you could be sat there thinking its all good when the boat could be doing the same thing as the spod and your bait is no where near your spot

This needs doing at 25 wraps I think there would be a massive difference ?

I've always taken 1 foot off my spod for every 3ft of water depth. Looks like I need to adjust that ever so slightly. But at least I know I've already been doing it more or less spot on up to now.

Great series of videos, like em all. Like you I've given this some thought. if you apply Pythagoras rules on triangles to the distance to the lead under the marker float as the hypoteneuse then you get the following equation: Assuming a 12ft rod: 13.5 wraps = 162 feet; depth mentioned in video was 11ft; then distance from your feet to the marker float along surface of the water is = square root (162^2 - 11^2). This is 161.6 feet. Only 6 inches less than the clipped up lead. But you needed to clip up the spomb rod 3ft shorter to hit the target zone. My personal view is it is the difference in my casting style of casting the spomb rod, to casting out the clipped up lead and feeling it down on for a "donk" which makes me need to shorten the spomb rod. I now try to cast marker, spomb and fishing rod exactly the same so to hit exactly the same area. Would welcome your thoughts and comments.

I always take swing back into consideration that’s why you use your marker rod as your gauge and not your spomb rod etc regardless of depth.

Great video but Korda did prove this aswell.

Would have been good to see where the baited rig landed while you were at it boys, mono (if you were using on the fishing rods)is obviously different and will bounce back further I think 🤔, good video all the same though

That is great but what if you are using a normal floated spod would that be different the the type used in the video

Great video, how it looks on 150m-160m? Of course it‘s difficult to cast in a 1m2 point but the distance would be nice to see
