I’d really like to see a comparison between a flashed zx4rr and a Ninja 650

Obviously the straight piped inline 4 is going to sound better than a twin with a stock muffler on lol

I commute on mine and did a track day last Sunday. Not a strong turning rider myself but had a really good morning on a zx4rr. Believe the bike is a great commuter and could be a good track bike in the right hands. Starter track bike for sure. Hardest part of riding the 4RR is learning to hear the engine. I’ve never been much a high rev rider. Learning to hear the shift points has been a challenge. At Little Tally, with my weight I could run full lap in 2nd, and it was fun. Expect that will change as I improve at corner entry and accept more speed into the corners. If you can afford it, it’s a good bike!

I think between these 2 bikes it really comes down to different people value different things, so it's almost down to personal preference.

The 4RR's got a miniature S2000 engine

I ended up getting the 400 twin and I'm really happy that I did. As much as I love the zx-4rrs sound I couldn't justify paying "almost" the cost of a new 600 and not getting the power

I just bought a 2023 Ninja 400 KRT in that same blue last week! Not exactly what I wanted, but I still love it (wanted a 2022 MT07 dream bike). Having a blast learning still. Accidentally got like ALL of the warranties, and it turned out to be like $11k... it's a forever bike, though, bc you've talked about how you track it for technique and it's fun. Almost like a Miata compared to a Mustang. Low power blast

Results = don't buy the zx4rr for current price, not as large amount of supporting mods.

No matter how you look at it the zx4rr is better than the Ninja 400. BUT its not leaps and bounds better. The only thing that is so much better is the sound and the high revs. PLUS don't forget the comparison is done on an unlocked tune of the bike. SO you will have to buy a bike that is slower or the same as the ninja 400 until you send off the ECU to have its full potential unlocked.

Key take away here, Dont buy the zx4rr unless you already plan to spend extra money or find one that already has a flashed ecu and don't pay current crazy price.

In India, ninja 400 isn't beginner bike. We have splendor here. 😂 It's our dream bike. 😊

I definitely like the sturdiness of the ZX especially for the highway however, I would keep the muffler on. I prefer a more quiet bike than noisy.

ZX-4RR being superior to R7 will be priced more than R7, I love inlines and really appreciate Kawasaki to keep them alive. Maybe they can assemble these locally to put fair pricing? I was waiting for it in India but don't think it will be launched here.
