Fast and efficient is key in a plumbing good job

I had a brainiac plumber install the pipes across my ceiling instead of under the floor where it should be. Right over the top of the bedroom to the bathroom. Three times I have had pin hole leaks. No fun when you wake up at 3.00am to find water dripping on the foot of your bed via a light fitting and the entire ceiling filled with water and starting to sag. Eventually I slid extra sleeve fittings onto the pipe so that if it occurs again I can just slide the fitting over the hole and crimp it. Renovations of the house are planned and all the copper pipes will go back under the floor where they should be.
Edit: It's possible to buy a hand held hydraulic crimping tool that has dies for copper, pex and stainless conduit. It works just like a wire crimper and costs only $150. Much better for a home handyman than the $2000 Milwaukee cordless.

Good call on using the propress, you definitely don't want to get sued for burning a house down.

I personally love using the progress. No leaks and if you still have water in the pipe or if the valves are leaky it still seals without an issue.

I personally hate trying to sodder under a home pro-press for the win. Keep the good work

Could’ve used a little bit of a abrasive paper on that line before the press other than that looks good

Pro press for the win. I use it all the time at work for irrigation lines. I work at a old university with some old buildings.

It's 11:00 right now at night and I think I almost woke everyone up in the house with how loud I just laughed at that. Ellen joke 😂

I’ve seen progress fittings leak because they were being pressed on dirty copper pipe.

I don’t understand why you didn’t clean the pipe, in the same manner you would clean it, as if you were soldering the fittings on.

That little bit of laziness, can cause a very small leak. just wiping off the pipe is not good enoug, because the The O-ring inside the fitting needs to be bonded to a clean pipe. I believe if you read the instructions, it’ll tell you how to prep the pipe to be pressed.

Yeah, I have a crawlspace like that, but with rusty metal frame and muddy dirt around it 😂

I don’t understand the Ellen reference?
I do pennywise though.

PEX would last the life of the house and its frost proof.

The Ellen DeGeneres comment was the best!

Who cares about solder? If it works, it works. Solder takes longer and you don't even know if you've done it successfully until you turn the water back on. I trust this process more than any solder job.

I like the propress shit, but trusting a rubber o-ring to have longevity is asking a lot.

We'll know in a couple more years how it stacks up. I do prefer a brazed joint, but man the propress saves a metric fuckload of time.
