My love for this song begins in the 70s. A tv game show from Hawaii called The diamond head game was a favorite of mine . Contestants would go into a glass booth for 60 sec. Air would blow and money would fall. While the cash grab was going on, this song Route 101 would play. I never knew the name of the song till today. Happy Mothers day
to all you fans of Route 101.

Singing on Route 101 at A & M Studio with the amazing Herb Albert producing, standing next to me, was one of the great moments of my career. It was one of the first albums I sang on when I moved from Chicago to Los Angeles two year prior. Mary Hylan sang with me and at the time Mary & I were both part of Clare Fischer's 2+2 that just received a Grammy nomination, a few years later we won the Grammy for Best Jazz Vocal Group Performance.Route 101 is such a classic. I still love hearing it, especially driving on Route 101 from Los Angeles up the California coast. No better soundtrack for that experience. Thanks Herb.

U.S.101(route 101) is a great drive between Capenteria & Salinas. I drove it in 1975, then after the I-405 parking lot of today was really nice from Thousand Oaks. Every time I listen to Route 101, I always think about route 101 & California the state that I love the most and want to return there for good.

Great music but bost of the beautiful scenery along the ocear is highway 1. Highway 101 is inland quite a bit.
