A well-timed video for me as I've been tapering into my first Olympic distance in abut 5 years. I've had several discussions with my wife, who believes I should have totally stopped for a full week before the race, but I think I've done pretty much what you describe here (which is reassuring). I guess I'll find out on Sunday. Thanks for the video.

What a coincidence! I'm starting a taper today, for my first ever triathlon in two weeks.

I often like the tapering workouts, they are short, playful to do. In the beginning of the competition week I often bicycle 10x40/20 s with warmup and cool down.
Day before competition I often do one workout with intervals 1 min z3 20 s z5 but it shall be acceleration and high cadence.3:40 z2 .

Thanks, that was just the video I needed. I'm doing my ultra running debut next weekend and I've been a bit sick and forced to rest this week. Que: niggles and tightness in my right leg and a worried mind...

I keep moving but at a lighter effort. My wife Dislikes me when it is time to taper for a race happens. LOL
