Years ago there was move in US DOD to move from Windows to Linux operating systems. This would allow IT personnel complete control and openness for reviews and actions. They could prove abiding by all laws and save lots of federal funds; almost free, because Windows licenses were expensive.
It was turned down by senior management (one of the 51 Generals) which is why Bill Gates and Microsoft own the world now, including all of those military and intel networks.

My laptop, at about 600$ then, is the only computer I have. All of my games (40 plus) on Steam play just fine in Mint Linux (21 and 22). Steam auto loads the Proton files when necessary in updates. They should work on Steam Deck too.

The games include all versions of:

Dishonored Series
Assassins Creed Series
Splinter Cell Series
Sniper Elite Series
Paradox Various Series
Thief Series
Fallout and Skyrim Series
Uboat and Britannia
Ultimate General and Admiral
