I know that you think that every hero and villain created by dc and marvel, are completely original ideas. You might think that all the characters you love are completely unique ideas written by genius writers. most of them indeed are original ideas. But did you know that sometimes they actually like to copy each other? Especially if you have been more attentive, you've certainly noticed that several DC and Marvel characters have many things in common. Thats what this video is about. In this video, I'm bringing you a list of characters that both Marvel and DC copied from each other. And the list is so big that i actually cant include every character in just one video. So if you want a part 2, let me know in the comments.

Captain america and guardian are both made by Jack kirby, so he copied his marvel character for dc not dc comics themselves copying marvel

Yeah, I don't think it really matters because both DC and Marvel have "shared" the same creators, writers, and

About Vision, Roy Thomas original plan was to have the Golden Age Vision join the Avengers, but Stan Lee wanted an android hero (no way of knowing if he knew about the Red Tornado) so Roy re-worked his idea, keeping the name. Let's not forget that the original Human Torch was an android who was red when aflame. Neither Marvel nor DC created the concept of androids so saying one character is a copy of the other because they are both androids doesn't make much sense.

Amazing Work. Light being shed on the copying was long overdue!

The Avengers are a copy of the Justice League, first appearing in 1963, three years after the JL debuted in 1960. Jim Starlin's Thanos was "inspired" by Jack Kirby's Darkseid. Kirby was co-creator of the Challengers of the Unknown for DC in 1957, and would go on to copy elements from that team when creating the Fantastic Four for Marvel in 1961.

Just because there are similarities in the characters, it doesn't mean that the artist who designed Vision for example copied Red Tornado

I disagree that steel is a copy of iron man. Yes they have similar backstories but thats where the similarities end, Steel is actually inspired by a historic figure named John Henry (There was a short story on netflix about him while ago). Evidence that steel is based on John Henry is 1. his name 2. his weapon of choice, in the story John Henry dug out a mountain with a hammer(steel uses hammer)

Wolverine is a rip-off of TimberWolf who became more popular, and if I recall, Lobo is a rip-off of Wolverine lol.

Dude, The Guardian and Captain American were both Jack Kirby and Joe Simon created characters. Timely Comics (Marvels original name) was seriously underpaying these guys and they got a better offer from DC so reusing their concept seems legit to me.

DC has Catwoman
- Marvel has Black Cat,
Hepzibah
Tigra
Hellcat

DC has Batman
Marvel has NightHawk ( a millionaire who dresses in a dark Disguise (animal themed) and
goes fighting crime at night.)

its really surprising that many of my friends did not know the actual Captain Marvel Comics. Most of my friends argued with me many times, and when I reveal them the truth, the feeling is GODLY!

Kind of funny but Marvel might not have did Captain Marvel if another company did not create a android Captain Marvel that made Martin Goodman Marvel's then owner upset he didn't want another publisher having a character with Marvel in their name. Also that Captain Marvel was created by Carl Burgos the creator of the original Human Torch who was upset over what was done with the Torch after his copyright lawsuit failed.

The first "Black Spider" Eric Needham was similar to "Spider-Man" in costume only. If anything he was more similar to that of "The Punisher". And much like that of "Batman", there were several Spider themed heroes who came before "Spiderman".
(Iron Man and Steal) were also both predated by two Golden Age characters, one a hero, the other a villain. "Iron Ace" who first appeared in Air Fighters Comics #2 (1942). Was a World War 2 British pilot named (Captain Robert Britain). Who was shot down over France. And forced to hide in a Castle that belonged to a man known only as Dr. LaFarge. LaFarge turns out to be the leader of a resistance group. LaFarge is soon shot by the Germans after they track Britain to LaFarge's Castle. Captain Britain puts on a old suit of armour which is (still in perfect shape). The suit of armour once belonged to a legendary warrior who was dubbed "Iron Ace". And had fought by the Charlemagne's side for France. Captain Britain kills the Germans in the castle with the Ace's sword. Afterwards he makes himself a {armoured fighter plane} and takes to the skies and kills a large number of Germans. And the first Golden Age incarnation of the Superman villain {Metallo} was an inventor/scientist named "George Grant". Who had built a powered suit of armor made from "the most powerful metal on Earth". Which endowed him with super strength and serum. That made him a near-match for "Superman".

Captain Marvel and Shazam in the 70s were legally allowed to be exactly alike. Right down to the young person transforming into a superhero.

1:36 between 1940's vision and the Martian man hunter (dc) who came first. And don't you think they were a copy of each other?

Modern Vision is based on a Golden Age character, also called the Vision, from 1941. The costume is even similar. Red Tornado definitely came later.
