I was 13 the first time i watch this fight. I'm 29 now and i still get the same chills. Music, fight animation and choregraphy, strategic, the stakes involved...
That was not just nostalgia, shonen stories were REALLY better at this time, i'll never forget the golden 2000' era.

15:00 I will always say the same, Sasuke at that moment could have killed Naruto, but he didn't. This shows that no matter how cold he seems, he had feelings of friendship with Naruto and the Village.

What I really like about the way the Sasuke Retrieval Arc ended was that the mission failed because of Naruto’s misplaced arrogance and pride. To put it very simply, Naruto could have and should have punched Sasuke in the gut during their final clash and ended the battle with a mutual incapacitation, however he insisted on trying to prove Sasuke wrong—that he could scratch his forehead. Naruto did prove Sasuke wrong, but missed the point, that to succeed on the mission and ultimately in his goals would require him to let go of his pride. In a way, this was foreshadowed at the beginning of the arc when Naruto talked down to Sasuke during their fight on the roof of the hospital building—and paid off at the end when Naruto developed an understanding of Sasuke and their final battle occurred.

If Naruto did that crack on Sasuke's neck and not on his headband then Sasuke will loose his life forsure but Naruto did this because he wants to prove Sasuke wrong, he has no intention to kill him

This where I came for… I am definitely love the matchup and the story of Naruto. Huge climax before the retrieval arc. This was the greatest battle ever next to the six path matchup.

Never realized that the first half of the fight was just Naruto halfheartedly getting his ass beaten. It really took the poor guy getting run through to realize his friend did in fact wanted to kill him.
