Interesting I haven't seen anyone suggest rouge planets passing though to be a cause. A few might stick around awhile at the very ends of the Sun's influence before being nudged somehow on their way.

I've seen people talk about the Sun's Kuyper belt and Oort clouds being perturbed by passing stars but nobody seems to talk about the belt and clouds that star may possess though which our solar system may actually pass though.
