Had a volibear 2 days ago on enemy top lane, our garren did okay and didn't die but he could not match him or stop him after about 20 minutes he was at our inhib and was like 4/0 with 240 farm. He proceeded to 1v5 us for the rest of the game, like another 20+ minutes and basically just walked up and took objective got a tripple+ kill and walked out. Breachers need to be checked shit makes the game unplayable. They are all super tanky, do more damage than ADCs, take objectives in seconds, a few seasons ago you just kite them but there is so much move speed in the game through runes and shit there is just no way to match them anymore. And even if you do match them with something that can kite them like an Ashe, they take so little damage they just walk away or bait you in to another. You could just not chase them but then you're stuck still not killing them.

there's a pretty big reason why i despise volibear so much, and that's because it doesn't matter how much or little you do; you basically have a high relevance floor, with tower disable, stun engage, healing tank, and percentile hp that doesn't need any scaling to be viable. so i think his main issue for being meta is just how when he's behind he doesn't actually feel behind at all unless you pretty much double his gold income

I love how so many people complain about this, not realising that this is not at all a great comparison to almost all games. This is a challenger/high elo player playing probably in a lower elo, getting omega fed, of course it's not fair since the enemy is already out skilled greatly. And generally, it doesn't matter who you are playing, if you're many levels and items ahead of the enemy then of course you don't take that much dmg (especially when building tank items, they're super strong when ahead) and deal more dmg to the eneny just by difference in base stats. When looking at overall statistics, he is 49-50% WR in Toplane in all elo's, not a single elo where he is over 50% (source u.gg). He is completely balanced and only in jungle is he overperforming, which already has been nerfed quite a lot. He is terrible against ranged, high movement speed, high slows and/or high kiting team comps/champs. One of his biggest counters are blocking his auto attacks (since both his Q and W do count and work as an auto attack), like Shen W, Teemo Q and Jax E does just to name some, and by simply just not letting him proc his W a second time you also negate his bonus dmg and healing. It's really not that hard to walk away. He is a great duelist and can't really die when in a 1v1 against low burst dmg champs, so I understand he feels unfair because he is a bit unfair against the right opponent or team comps. That is how this champ works. But considering the meta today, most champs play really well into Volibear and a lot of them even stomp him, making him pretty useless, which is also a big reason to why he really is mostly balanced. Anyways enough yapping from me, great video Zwag!

zwag mitigated more damage as voli than sion. SION. one of the kings of self-mitigated damage charts got out-mitigated by this volibear build.

Situational items (pick some): Rod of Ages, Rylai's, Cosmic Drive, Frozen Heart, Abbysal Mask, Spirit Visage, Force of Nature, Kaenic, Jak'Sho, Warmog's
Primary runes: Grasp, Demolish, Conditioning, Overgrowth OR standard Conqueror.
Secondary runes: Manaflow, Gathering Storm OR Presence of mind, Last stand.

Extra facts:
You want Archangel's first, because Cass is so mana hungry.
Gauntlet might work, because with E you'll proc it often.
Heartsteel will easily proc because you're ranged and fast. For the same reason Rylai's will be excellent for kiting, just like bruiser Ashe.
Spirit Visage synergizes with your E healing and Seraph's shielding.

Try to hit your lightning as you're running with your Q so that it comes down where you stun them without too much of a delay. Timing it to hit them as you're on the air about to drop on them with your ult also helps your sustain and icreases your chances of a quick kill and it also allows you to chase them down with your Q should they decide your ult self is too much to fight against.

Also, Sunfire into jak'sho, into choice boots, into either winter's or thorn, into riftmaker into spirit is a way more effective build for immortal Voli. I've literaly ended with more health than I had avter a 1v3 at mid game. Gotta buy T1 boots and Tear od the Goddess/bramble vest early though. You'll take longer to finish your first item, but it's worth it. I also prefer taking shieldbash over demolish with triumph and last stand as secondary runes, but yours work just fine as well.

That's ridiculous. An amazing display of a ridiculous bear build. Curious why you didn't throw in a thornmail in against all those basic-attackers. Frozen heart does have nice synergy, but I'd think the damage from the thorns would make them kill themselves trying to deal the 10k+ damage it takes to kill you.
