The tip about the wave is actually super useful, I've ranked up from g3 to plat 2 in 2 weeks just because I spam Darius, get the wave closer to my tower, then I just Ghost and run them down because of the space that I've been given

I find this a bit confusing: At the beginning, you say with game fundamentals you can learn to play the role and do not need to know about match-ups. In 2:20, you explain that you should adapt your playstyle to whether a certain skill is stronger than the opponents (or vice versa). Maybe, this question is stupid but: Is it not considered knowledge about match-ups instead of general game knowledge? How would I know my champion's skills' strengths relating to other champions', if not by knowing the match-up?

The fact that gragas knew his e beats riven q is very matchup specific in my opinion... Let's say you play jax into darius, you have to know that whoever e's first loses. These are small details but very important.

Love these kind of videos and I don't even main top. I'm an ADC main and 1 big issue I have is deciding between farming lanes/camps vs grouping for fights (Because I know my job is to get as much gold as possible). Finding that balance is challenging. I dunno, just a video idea.

The general idea of prioritizing concepts/fundamentals instead of match ups makes sense, yet, as some have already mentioned, those concepts are basically useless if you have 0 matchup knowledge. For instance, knowing if you have pressure or not level 1 is super specific to the matchup (and to the skills both players leveled) and might impact your whole lane phase if you play it incorrectly. Same applies for most levels, specially 2, 3 and 6, since they grant you new skills.

i reeeeally wish you guys would stop stating horrible opinions as facts, YES its true matchups arent clear cut when the players arent perfect at the champions but saying 100% garbage like "they dont matter at all" is completely infuriating baloney. disliked.
