Sage advice: People buy BMW's and Audi's used with 120, 000 miles/10+ years old and they are proud that they own them. That is until the first major repair....

"Oh no way dude, I can't afford that!" And the car gets parked in the lot, still broken.

Folks, with expensive and troublesome cars like the pair that I have talked about, if you CANNOT afford to buy it new, you CANNOT afford to buy it used! Trust me.

Light airplanes are a lot like these cars. You can find a cheap airplane, but what you have to understand [and I'm sure that most of you do already] is that you need to set aside in an escrow account about $100 for every flight hour just to pay for maintenance/insurance/tie down fees. IF you are an A&P then you can do the maintenance yourself, but you still have to buy parts and have an IA sign it off.

So the long and short, is that the "Most Affordable Aircraft in 2023" is a relative term....
