I could not run 200 meters without my shins pumping out. Pain and exhaustion were instant. Two weeks into practicing your drills and I can run a kilometre. This is such a big deal to me. It's a miracle. Thank you.

People usually do it wrong!!!
1. You first have to empty your lungs completely by contracting your abdominal muscles as far back (towards your spine) as possible.
2. Relax the abdominal muscles. Air will rush into your lungs in a natural way without you having to try to pull the air into your lungs. Making an effort to pull the air into your lungs is an incorrect way of breathing (especially if your lungs are not completely empty).

for the first time in my life i watched a full 2 minute advertisement. it was zeitgeist 2011. it was about all the awesome stuff that happened in 2011 and it almost made me cry.

This is so helpful. I am easily out of breath when swimming, jogging or running when I am quite an active person. It just turns out I am breathing the wrong way. hehehe Thanks!

You could try cycling to build your basic stamina. Specially on a cycle trainer (Stationary Bike) it's very easy to cycle and focus on your breathing. Also when you run you could try to force your breath to follow your stride pattern (for instance you can inhale over 3 steps, then exhale over the next 3 steps). I tend to focus on a strong exhale, since that will cause you to take good breaths in automatically.

Try breathing in for 2 steps and breathing out for 1 step. Getting comfortable with the belly breathing when not exercising will also help.

Question - I have a lot of difficulty breathing while I'm running. I never get to a point where I can breathe comfortably. Do you have a breathing pattern you use when you're running? Any advice you can give would be appreciated, thanks!

Video would've been easier to watch if camera view hadn't kept switching angles (front to side)..not necessary and uber distracting.
