My daughter asked me why I like Christmas music and movies. I told her this is my peace. This transports me back to when my parents were together and we would gather around the TV and watch the Christmas specials that would come on as a family. Now, my dad is gone and my kids are older and the world is a mess. Its nice to be taken back to those peaceful years, those simpler times in life and smile at the memories that were made. Those I will cherish for a lifetime.

Long story: We grow up poor in the projects. One day we rented out Home Alone 2 at the library. Some time in 1996 (maybe). As a child, I never knew the movie was already out for so long already. Anyways, my siblings and I immediately fell in love with it. We never returned the movie (I assumed my mother paid the fee).We literally watched this on VHS for the longest time, years even. I think my mother knew how much we love the movie, because one Christmas like the ending- she bought us a bunch of gifts. They were all from the $1 store now that I remember, but man as a kid I was so excited to see so many presents. Love you mom. Home Alone 2 will always be special to me. Fuck, crying again.

My spirit is heavy due to the world’s chaos. I’m 69 and all my parents, aunts, uncles and many cousins are gone now. My children and grandchildren are grown and living their lives. I’m near tears as I remember Christmas past. Such wonderful memories and I’m blessed to have them. Your music comforts me and is a blessing. I thank the Lord Jesus for his gifts and blessings. I feel I will be seeing my family again before long. Thank you again for sharing your gift of music with us.

In all the universe, there is no greater, more precious, and more beautiful celebration than Christmas, when Christ came to this realm and brought his love and peace to all mankind.

This takes me back to childhood. As a small boy in the 80s and teenager in the 90s...I used to love watching people run around from one store to the next...the hustle and bustle of the people with their families and laughter and smiles. This is the music I'd hear in the stores. Watching, together as a family the awesome Christmas themes on the sitcoms like Married with Children or The Wonder Years. My father doing his best to keep me and my siblings happy and getting the things we wanted. I remember one year in 1986, I was 5 years old....we were less fortunate in the money department...couldnt afford a big remember my dad walking off into the woods one night and coming back with a 6 foot actually cut one down for us, and it was the happiest moment. Years later my older sister would start working and helping bring in income and things got a little better....but that night was a memory I'll never forget. My father is gone...taken too early....no more packed stores....everything is point and click now and it's at your door the next day. No more sitcoms....everything is a podcast now. The world has gone to shit with all these wars and violence. I truly wish I could wake up and it's 1986 again....we were poor, but happy because it was the little things we did as a family that mattered the most. Now, kids don't even play outside anymore. It's all about cellphones, social media and illicit drugs. Neighbors knew eachother and spoke to one another and put out a helping hand. All that is gone now. I fear what 20 years from now will be. I'm thankful that at the least, I have those memories and this music takes me back there the world and it's inhabitants were mostly good.
