John Landis sat down with the EMP curatorial team in early 2011 for an Oral History about his love of the genre.

This clip focuses on what Landis considers "horror" to be, and just what attracts people to watch these films.

Aside from being a legendary film director and producer, Landis is also a guest curator for the EMP Museum exhibition, Can’t Look Away: The Lure of Horror Film. More interview clips from Landis can be found in the gallery.

He is absolutely right about why people watch horror movies and why some people are drawn to the supernatural. It's essentially facing your own's fears or also facing death itself only you don't die yourself, you can scare others and also be scared yourself.

I was lured away from all of his works thanks to the Twilight Zone movie, guess horror really can have more than one effect on people.
