How to Safely Start a Fire the Easy Way

It's time to learn how to safely start a fire the easy way. Every year we gather all the branches and odd bits of wood laying around our property and pile it all up. Once the cool weather hits, we light it on fire and have a good old fashioned bonfire. This year I want to do something a little different and light it from 30 feet away.

My neighbor cut down all the trees and shrubs in his yard and made a big pile for a bonfire. He dumped a gallon of gas on it and threw a match on it. The explosion knocked him down and burned all the hair off his legs, face, and forehead. I'm glad you found a safe way to do it.

I love bonfire to but there is one problem with that, when you collect wood over long period of time it is posibil that by the time you want to light up there are inhabitants at the bottom of the pile, the hedchog 😔

That’s the way my husband always starts his big fires. First time I saw him do it I thought it was pretty cool and amazingly smart.

Looked like a lot of dry stuff close by Mike. I would be afraid the fire would get away from me. My Brother in Law just died a couple of months ago because the fire did exactly that and he tried to stamp it out. Got burned over 90% of his body and didn't survive. So everyone please be careful...especially elderly people.

man, i enjoyed that mike. when in high school we had a bonfire at the beginning of football season. that woodpile was so high in a field and there was a chair on the top, always. of course, everyone was as route as could be with shaving cream cans thrown in the fire, bottles, cans of soda, and whatever else one can think of. fire dept always at hand. there's something about a fire. -- been very busy on the politico mike. things will not come to a close soon. yes, conspiracy scientists coming out of the woodwork; or is it not? the saga continues. be well and I'll catch up soon. happy Halloween. cp.

I put gas in a ziplock bag. Put it on top then light some paper on the bottom.
