What I liked about this scene was that it could have been Scully’d and an episode spent on Walsh continuing to lie and Buffy trying to convince Riley she was lying - but they did it all quickly and in minutes. Great way of handling this, Joss Whedon!

Look, I know most of the Buffy fandom hates Riley, and I'm the first to admit that he was awful in most of season 5, but I absolutely LOVED season 4 Riley! He turned his back on the entire Initiative, because (starting with this scene, ) he realized how corrupt and in-over-their-heads the government was trying to control demons. His affection for and devotion to Buffy in season 4 is refreshing to watch. I always loved the scene where Buffy wakes up after she and Riley sleep together for the first time. After her experiences waking up alone after Angel and Parker, I loved seeing Riley's smiling face still right there next to her. I enjoyed watching Riley and Buffy's relationship develop in season 4 much more than I enjoyed the melodramatic cliche that was Buffy/Angel. (OK, Spuffy and Bangel fans...start hating on me! I REALLY dont care!) :D

Professor Walsh was the least likeable person in the entire series. Her arrogance and her constant commanding tone really annoyed me. I can't deny that I cheered when Adam impaled her.
She was to Buffy what Dolores Umbridge was to Harry Potter.

This is hands down one of my favorite scenes in this whole thing. It's been a while since I watched this but my recollection is something along the lines that, Professor Walsh was somewhat jealous of Buffy. And this whole thing she pulled? Did Walsh ever learn what a Slayer is?
