I am Tom Saguto, PGA Member and founder of SagutoGolf. Thank you for visiting my instructional page where you can find how to get on the fast track to improving your golfing abilities. Whether you are a seasoned golfing veteran looking for a quick swing tune-up after an on-course emergency, or a beginner just looking to get the most out of your golfing experience, I am here to help you achieve your golfing goals.

My mission as your swing doctor is simple, to help you maximize your enjoyment in game of golf. Because, let’s face it, golf is a hard game.

My philosophy is wholly based on the student having a fun, meaningful experience in a frustrating and complicated game where potential lifelong golfers either quit because it is too difficult or that they experience some form of swing-related pain or discomfort. I mitigate these problems by focusing entirely on the student’s needs and goals while teaching a golf swing method that ultimately takes stress off of the common pain areas of the swing.

Fun fact, I once viewed an Asian lady in her mid 20's at a practice putting green in Ca. I was on the putting green for about 30-45 minutes, then I went to the chipping area for about 30 minutes and then I went to the driving range for 45 minutes. The ENTIRE time I did all that, she went around the putting green with only 3 balls and shooting 3' and 4' putts. Over and over and over and over and over and over again. I'd say for at very minimum 2.5 hours. I went up and asked her why she was putting from such short distances. She told me she was a professional and that was where the money was in putting and making sure she can make those putts no matter what without even trying. I was shocked.

I just wanted to let you know I have watched a number of your videos over the past few months. And I have taken various pieces and comments into my game. And it has made a difference. I am still around 90 but I feel more comfortable with my swing and general play. Thanks much….. making progress and enjoying golf, finally……

By far my favorite youtuber golf coach! You are a natural teacher in the way you explain and demonstrate how to do every little detail of the game.

Love the channel. Unless my math is off, if the cup is 4.25" in diameter, you have 2.125" over 36" and the arc tangent of that is about 3.4 degrees, which is still very little room for error.

Can you do a 30 yard to 75 yard wedge video? Thanks!

One of the guys I play with every once in a while is a legitimate pga card carrier. First time and every time... he makes 15 footers almost always. He rarely ever misses a putt. When they say the worst putter on tour is the best putter you have ever seen, I know they are not kidding

Tom, I'll just say a few things: A) I've never had a put on my home course with a green as flat as your carpeted floor! I say that, because most of my trouble with short putts are: 1) How much break is there in this putt? 2) How much break do I play? and 3) How hard/soft do I hit the putt based on the break? Also, B) Please take this as a compliment and not an insult: I definitely like your golf shoes better in these older videos, than the ones in your more recent videos, but that's just my OCD kickin' in! 🙂 What's most important is that I am a SagutoGolf subscriber and watch ALL your great videos!

I Lawrence, do solemly swear, that I will not manipulate the face of the putter in the impact area for the rest of my life. As a result of my learning from Saguto Golf, I will hit my line everytime .

Some folks have vision issues or line problems due to wearing glasses. There is a distortion as to where the real line is due to wearing glasses. This causes me to miss it on the right side consistently unless I aim left of the hole and trust that my vision is not seeing the correct line. I have tried to use intermediate target and that works as long as don't lose the spot. It's real easy to lose the spot though. The only other thing that has worked for me is drawing the line on the ball and lining it up to the intended line. That works.

Very good Tom. No rotating of the arms! For overall putting, do you feel the Sik armlock putter that Bryon uses is worth it?

Great tip Tom you are fun to watch!.. and this is a Kenny Powers (real name) putting alighment tip:
I've known this for a long time, but standing to the side of your putting line can create an optical illusion where your perspective results in a slightly closed or open face. To alleviate this I move the putter slightly closer to my feet or further based on the way my practice putting results. I sometimes have a friend line me up before I putt until the line appears straight and my practice strokes result in a true straight stroke.

I see how not keeping the clubface square and keeping the hands very quite is the best thing to think about when putting. The only thing I use to show me if I'm putting straight is by using gray's golf. It's a long steel piece that I use on my indoor putting green. It's a good thing to use before going to play to make sure your hitting the ball with a square clubface.
