Reading an article on the idea of states seceding based on moral and political beliefs. Many have thought in this age of polarization in the U.S on BOTH sides that a civil war is inevitable fairly soon. Doubt it look what happened during the BLM protests and on Jan 6th both sides have shown there is very little middle ground anymore and both sides have shown the ability to mobilize in large groups and be violent. If you say I am a conservative the left immediately calls you racist and protests burning and looting, if you say I am a liberal the right says you are a godless heathen and pushes back as well violently in some cases.Thinking a civil war or a split in the country along political lines is imminent is not as far fetched or as implausible as it used to be, one simply needs to look at the recent protests, government forcing a lock down of citizens, roe vs wade overturning and the protests and violence during the BLM riots where entire sections of cities were temporarily overrun to see it has already begun. If peace between both sides cannot be achieved it might be the best option where liberals are free to run a separate nation the way that they want and conservatives run their own. It might be a way to avoid the millions of casualties that another civil war would guarantee. Neither side is happy with their representation currently so why not allow those with strong beliefs on the left to form the Liberal states of America and the Conservatives to form the Conservative States of America both sides win and stop.forcing the other to bend to their beliefs, I believe the time for compromise has passed simply watch the news and see the hate based on politics from BOTH sides equally.. A recent large national poll asked Would you support forming two separate nations, One Democrat and One Repblican 41% Democrats support seceding and forming a "Blue" Country and 52% of Conservative support seceding and forming a "Red" country. I love my country however is it really my country anymore where you are NOT free to express your beliefs without outright hatred being shown to you REGARDLESS of which beliefs you hold.
